Cluster IM

Hello, my name is Shabib AlQobati, I work as an Information Management Specialist, as part of the GNC Rapid Response Team (RRT) and the GNC Technical Alliance’s Technical Support Team. I provide Information Management (IM) support to Nutrition Clusters and sectors through remote and physical deployments. Information Management support endeavours to improve the capacity of stakeholders for analysis and decision making through strengthened collection, processing, interpretation and dissemination of information at the intra and inter-cluster level. I have supported nutrition clusters/sectors in Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, Horn of Africa, Bangladesh, Sudan, Lebanon, Venezuela, Cameron, and most recently, in the Tigray region of Ethiopia where I provide IM support for nutrition situation analysis, design a comprehensive 4Ws database with infographic map and facilitated an IM training.

I worked as a software developer for around 5 years and then in the humanitarian and information management field for more than 10 years. This work has been at the field level for emergency responses, supporting cluster/sector coordination in different countries, including Yemen, Turkey and Syria (whilst based in Amman). My expertise includes data collection, analysis, visualization and information sharing, database management and mentoring for capacity strengthening.

I love working with data and exploring new initiatives and innovations in data usage. I have a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Open University Malaysia.

I live in Geneva with my wife and two daughters.  You can find out more about me on my LinkedIn
